Raleigh, NC / September 17, 2007 - Kyma Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of ultra-high purity crystalline gallium nitride (GaN) and aluminum nitride (AlN) materials and related products and services, is pleased to report that their native GaN substrate products will be featured in three scientific papers to be presented at the 7th International Conference of Nitride Semiconductors (ICNS-7), which takes place this week in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.


Kyma has several collaborative research and development partnerships with leading government and academic research groups to help understand and improve their products and to demonstrate the potential of their products in a broad range of nitride semiconductor device applications. The three ICNS-7 papers that feature Kyma's GaN products are the outcome of three of those collaborative partnerships.

The electrical characteristics of Kyma's native c-plane semi-insulating GaN will be the topic of a joint Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)-Kyma paper entitled "Electrical Properties and Deep Centers in Semi-Insulating Fe-Doped Native GaN Substrates Grown by Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy" and will presented on Monday September 17th by AFRL's Dr. Fang in the poster session subsection on Defects.

The structural characteristics of Kyma's native non-polar GaN will be the topic of a joint North Carolina State University (NCSU)-Kyma paper entitled "Characterization of Low Defect Density Non-Polar Native GaN Substrates" and will be presented on Monday September 17th by K.-Y. (Alvin) Lai of NCSU MSE Professor Mark Johnson's group in the session on Bulk Growth and HVPE II.

The device characteristics of deep green LEDs that utilize Kyma's native c-plane n+ GaN substrates will be the topic of a joint Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)-Kyma paper entitled "Improved Performance of GaInN Based Deep Green Light Emitting Diodes through V-Defect Reduction" and will be presented on Wednesday September 19th by Dr. Theeradetch Detchprohm of RPI Constellation Chair Professor Christian Wetzel's group in the session on Solid State Lighting and LEDs.
