Kyma Collaboration with RPI in GaN LED Technology Featured in Semiconductor Today

Kyma Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of ultra-high purity crystalline gallium nitride (GaN) and aluminum nitride (AlN) materials and related products and services, has been collaborating for the past few years with the research group of Dr. Christian Wetzel, the Wellfleet Career Development Constellation Professor, Future Chips, and associate professor of physics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on advanced GaN light emitting diode (LED) technology.  Kyma announced today the latest results of this highly productive collaboration.

In a newly published Applied Physics Letters paper entitled “Wavelength-stable cyan and green light emitting diodes on nonpolar m-plane GaN bulk substrates,” led by RPI Professor Dr. Theeradetch Detchprohm, a leading scientist in Wetzel’s group, the RPI team demonstrates improved GaN LEDs properties they fabricated on Kyma’s m-plane GaN substrates.  The article can be accessed at http://link.aip.org/link/?APPLAB/96/051101/1.
