Kyma Announces Promotion of Dr. Jacob Leach to Chief Scientist

Kyma Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of crystalline aluminum nitride (AlN) and gallium nitride (GaN) and related products and services, is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Jacob Leach to the position of Chief Scientist.

Jacob joined Kyma in 2010 in the role of Characterization and Device Engineer and was subsequently promoted to Director of Production. He recently took on the additional role of Chief Scientist. Jacob is responsible for continuous crystal growth process improvement and is a key interface with Kyma’s academic partners.

Additionally, Jacob is in the process of becoming an Adjunct Professor at Duke University’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, after his nomination by Dr. April Brown, John Cocke Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Sr. Associate Dean for Research.

Jacob received a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University in early 2010 under the mentorship of Professor Hadis Morkoç. His dissertation focused on advancing the understanding of and optimizing the performance of InAlN/AlN/GaN HFETs.
