Kyma Chief Technology Officer Retires

Kyma Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced materials solutions that promote safety and energy efficiency, announced today the retirement of Chief Technology Officer Dr. Robert A. Metzger.

Dr. Robert Metzger, Kyma's Chief Technology Officer, has decided to retire in early 2015. Bob joined Kyma in 2009 as Chief Engineer and was promoted to CTO in 2012. In 2014 he was elected to Kyma's board of directors. At Kyma he has led a number of high visibility projects, including the development of the world's highest voltage and speed GaN based photoconductive switch and the design and fabrication of several state-of-the-art crystal growth tools. While he remains available to help Kyma on a project by project basis, he plans to spend most of his time on family and an array of personal endeavors.

Kyma's president & CEO Keith Evans commented, "Bob's contribution to Kyma has been huge. He has the skills and courage to take on nearly any project and to succeed where most others would not. He will be missed in a big way yet I am optimistic that one or more projects we are planning over the next few quarters will exciting enough to entice him to join the Kyma team again in a part-time consulting role.

Kyma's Chief Science Officer, Dr. Jacob Leach, has already stepped into the lead role on the ongoing projects that Dr. Metzger was leading.
