Kyma's crystal growth engineers have the opportunity to contribute to a number of different crystal growth activities which range from development of new materials products to continuous improvement of the manufacturing of existing products. Our current materials products include bulk, thin film, and epitaxial wafers fabricated from the GaN, AlN, and Ga2O3 materials systems. Our current crystalline materials development activities include other wide bandgap semiconductor materials as well as certain 2-dimensional crystalline materials. If selected for an interview you will learn additional details about our current activities and needs.

 

A Bachelor's or Master's or Doctoral degree in a STEM field is required. We seek individuals who are ready to take a strong hands-on approach, who enjoy working in teams but also work well alone, and who understand that the best decisions are data-driven and that the best data is that which is properly documented in a proper database documentation and engineering analysis system. Hands-on experience in growing crystals and building and/or maintaining semiconductor crystal growth equipment is important. Energy, attitude, and the ability to work well both alone and in teams is critical.

Kyma's device engineers have the opportunity to contribute to a number of device development and prototyping activities mostly dealing with innovative new wide bandgap semiconductor (WBGS) based devices which Kyma designs and fabricates for its customers. Select device technologies of current interest include UV detector arrays, high power FinFET based switching devices, photoconductive semiconductor switch (PCSS) devices, novel photocathodes, and novel nuclear particle detector arrays.
