Kyma Executive Edward Preble Selected for Triangle Movers and Shakers Award

Kyma Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of ultra-high purity crystalline gallium nitride (GaN) and aluminum nitride (AlN) materials and related products and services, today announced the selection of their Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Dr. Edward Preble, as a Triangle Mover and Shaker.

The Mover & Shaker Awards are sponsored by Business Leader Media, which puts out the well-known Triangle Business Leader Magazine, and honor the up-and-coming business leaders in the Triangle community.  Nominees must be either rising leaders within companies with more than 100 employees or C-level executives leading rising companies with fewer than 100 employees.

Dr. Preble will be amongst area winners when Business Leader Media holds its seventh annual Mover & Shaker Award winners. Winners will be honored this evening at a ceremony in Raleigh and will be featured in the October 2010 issue of Business Leader magazine.

Dr. Preble joined Kyma in 2003 after completing his PhD and post-doctoral studies at NCSU in Materials Science and Engineering under the advisement of Professor Bob Davis, who has a reputation for graduating successful Triangle area executives.  Beginning at Kyma as a Senior Research Engineer, Preble was promoted to Vice President of Engineering in 2005 and to Chief Operating Officer in 2007.  In 2009 he was voted onto the Kyma’s Board of Directors.  His position recently changed to CTO, a transition designed to provide additional support to Kyma’s product development and commercialization activities across an increasingly diverse technology space and product line.

“Kyma has grown considerably over the past few years in terms of market presence and overall growth prospects,” stated Kyma President and CEO, Dr. Keith Evans.  “Ed has contributed and continues to contribute at the highest level.  His energy, intelligence, and constancy of purpose are inspirational to the entire Kyma team.”
