Kyma Joins NC State University Center for Advanced Sensor Technologies

Kyma Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced materials solutions that promote safety and energy efficiency, today announced their participation in the NSF Nanosystems Engineering Research Center (NERC) for Advanced Self-Powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST).

The ASSIST Center is developing nano-enabled energy harvesting, energy storage, nanodevices and sensors to create innovative battery-free, body-powered, and wearable health monitoring systems. It is a multi-organizational center led by North Carolina State University (NCSU).

The Center Director is Dr. Veena Misra and the Deputy Director is Dr. John Muth, a long time collaboration partner of Kyma's. Both Misra and Muth are professors in NCSU’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.

Kyma began its pursuit of a suite of sensor products two years ago when they partnered with Duke University Professor April Brown in novel chemical sensor development. In the coming weeks, Kyma plans to announce a new electromagnetic sensor product which will be made and plans a related new product announcement in the coming weeks.
